Q:
Is teeth whitening really
safe for salons/spas?
|
YES,
years of teeth whitening treatments in dental
offices have proven that it is safe. If
directions for use are followed, home
application is also safe. Occasionally, problems
such as teeth sensitivity (mild or moderate) or
gum irritations may be experienced. If this
happens, the frequency of use should be reduced.
People who do experience teeth sensitivity will
notice that it normally subsides quickly
following completion of treatment.
|
Q:
How
does the whitening treatment work?
|
First, the
depressions of the teeth are taken using a
“tray” filled with a special compound. After
shaping the tray for upper and lower teeth, the
whitening gel which contains an active
ingredient hydrogen peroxide and photo-ion are
applied to the trays. The tray is inserted into
the mouth and left in place for 15 minutes.
|
Q:
What
actually occurs during whitening?
|
During the
teeth whitening process, the active ingredient
in the gel (hydrogen peroxide) is broken down to
water and oxygen, oxygen enters the tooth
enamel. This bleaches embedded discolored
substances (stains). The structure of the tooth
is not changed; only the tooth enamel stain is
changed and becomes a lighter and whiter shade.
Fillings, crowns, bridges and bonding are
slightly affected.
|
Q:
How
long will it take before my teeth are whiter?
|
Whitening
results often become apparent during the
first treatment. Typically, the whitening
effect becomes even more evident after a second
treatment. Teeth will continue to whiten with
each successive treatment until desired results
are achieved.
|
Q:
Is it possible to speed up
the teeth
whitening process?
|
YES, our
exclusive photo-ion initiators greatly
accelerate the whitening process. Extending
actual treatment times for faster overall
whitening results may also work if the teeth are
not overly sensitive. As the gel is activated, a
slight tingling or bubbling sensation may be
felt. This is the oxidation process taking
place.
Treatment should be
done on upper and lower teeth each day at home until
your desired whitening is achieved. Twice a day
treatments may also achieve faster whitening
results.
|
Q:
What are the results
for most people? |
Although
results vary, in our experience backed by
studies, they show that 90% to 95% of
people experience some level of whitening. We
have experienced up to 7 shades in one 15 minute
Salon/Spa Cosmetic Whitening procedure.
|
Q:
How
long does the effect of teeth whitening last? |
For most people,
the results are long lasting. Exposure to
coffees, teas, tobacco, red wines and certain
other stain producing substances will eventually
darken teeth again over time. Maintenance kits
for home are recommended and provided to stop
the teeth from staining.
|
Q:
Do people need touch ups? |
After initial
treatment, some people do touch-ups every 3-6
months based on the amount of stain producing
substances to which they are exposed. The
iBriteTM
tooth whitening system is a professional
whitening system using LIGHT and not a
"supermarket" tooth whitening kit. It is
considerably stronger and more effective.
The active
ingredient in the whitening gel, hydrogen
peroxide, is milder than the Professional Dental
Office strength with Photo-Ion initiators for
faster whitening with less sensitivity in less
time.
|
Q:
Is the iBriteTM
photo light safe? |
YES, our
light is safe. There are no harmful Ultraviolet
(UV) or Infrared (IR) rays in this Diode light
source at 400 to 500 nanometers. This light is
the same type of light as the ones that are used
in many dental offices.
|
Q:
Why choose iBriteTM
cosmetic teeth whitening over a dentist
bleaching system? |
The
whitening gel from
iBrite
was developed by a Certified Dental Laboratory
and dentists for fast whitening action and long
lasting results. This is the same teeth
whitening gel that is dispensed by dental
offices worldwide. From the patented moldable
trays to the gel, the treatment is essentially
what a dentist would prescribe but milder for
less sensitivity, less time and less cost.
